For more than a decade, Colorado College’s poll on conservation in the West has surveyed voters in eight states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

The most recent poll shows that two-thirds of voters in these states want to see their energy come from “clean renewable sources like solar and wind” within 10 to 15 years, the Los Angeles Times reports.

What’s more: Those surveyed aren’t just liberal city dwellers. About 37 percent of the survey respondents said they were registered Republicans, compared with just 31 registered Democrats.

Could this be an indicator that the energy transition toward renewables is less divisive, and instead, a place where we see eye to eye?
